Inland Waterway Delta Anchor

What is an Inland Water Way?

An Inland Water Way is a river that flows inside the body of a country. These usually are natural but can be man made and have inlets to the ocean. An example of this is the Intracoastal Waterway(ICW). This river is man made, it starts up north and runs all the way down to Miami with multiple outlets to the ocean. The ideas that we chose will help preserve these waterways which are home to many different types of plants and animals that we may depend on.

Delta Anchor

The delta Lewmar is a steel anchor that is designed to be unset and then reset very quickly. In the inland waterways, you must anchor at night because the rivers are very difficult to maneuver at night. There are many anchorages along the rivers but they are generally full. A lot of the anchors used will sometimes drag and then when you wake up the boat is on the rocks or ontology of another boat. This is because during the night the anchors become loose and let go. The lewmar anchor will stay hooked in the bottoms of the floor and if for whatever reason the anchor comes unhooked it will reset very quickly causing less wrecks which will keep the ecosystem clean and let the depth of the inland waterways not get all clogged up.
